August 30, 2008

We were in Central Park to go for a ride in the row boats.  It was a humid day - surprisingly.  The weather has been really pleasant - not humid.
The Park was full of people today - also surprised.  I thought people would have left for the long weekend.  The lake was especially crowded.  There were many inexperienced rowers in the lake getting in our way or seconds from ramming into us.  Luckily, Thomas is very experienced and out maneuvered these wanna-be rowers.

The lake was also very green.  Some of it was algae, and there was something else in the water.  Little leafy things.  We didn't know what they were but it almost covered the lake.  I thought they were kind of pretty until we rowed into a part of the lake that had a heavy layer of these teeny leafy things.  It made the lake look kind of swampy.

Today was a chock full of picture taking. Today's collection was not centered around one theme. I took a picture of a Pilsbury doughboy in a convertible. I thought it was a giant doll until he waved at me. The collection also includes flowers, a penthouse, and a set for a production called "The Rebound". It's a movie featuring Catherine Zeta-Jones. Sorry for not skipping a couple of days of no blogging. I've been preoccupied and I must admit that the city did not inspire me to whip out my camera.

Today's collection are of cute furry and feathery creatures. I love cute animals!

February 8, 2008.

I was having a good day. Had a morning meeting and it went very well. I was in a bit of high. I was okay with not taking pictures today if nothing caught my fancy. But then when I was returning to the office after picking up my lunch I saw a squirrel in a the tree infected with cancer in Washington Square Park. The squirrel was just chilling. It looked very cute.

At the end of the day while waiting for the next PATH train to Jersey City, I decided to try to take pictures of people. The pictures I captured of people were two tracks away. The telephoto lens of this Panasonic DMC-TZ3 camera is pretty impressive. Anyways, take a look at these commuters rushing to get home for a nice weekend.

And if you want a closer look at these people or the cute squirrel, please visit the photo album.

Today was another day around Union Square. This time, my picture taking were focused on the wildlife - squirrels and pigeons.

I also saw the electronics recycling truck. I didn't know they were here today. Had I known, I would have brought down some of my old electronics. I think this a great service and a way for everyone to contribute the conservation of our environment.

For more information about this service, check out their website and when they will be at USP for their next pick up.

Today was a terrible day for collecting pictures. Though it wasn't as cold as yesterday, it was still cold. I did take a neat shot of two squirrels in a dead tree in Washington Square Park. It could have been a better shot. But considering I could have passed up this opportunity, this was as good as it gets. Feel free to check out the photo album to view all the photos taken so far.

Luckily, tomorrow promises to be warmer, mid 40's. So better pictures tomorrow.
