December 27, 2008

I was at Union Square and the outdoor Holiday market was being dismantled.  A sure sign that Christmas is over.  It was a relatively warm day too.  The birds were out and about looking for food and feasting on whatever was on the lawn.

The lady with blue hair is my favorite picture of the day!

I have to say that this picture below is my favorite of the day. I really like the composition of the pigeons hanging out on the cable.

The rest of the picture collection are elements of NYC's mass transit system.

January 6, 2008

Today was another day around Union Square. This time, my picture taking were focused on the wildlife - squirrels and pigeons.

I also saw the electronics recycling truck. I didn't know they were here today. Had I known, I would have brought down some of my old electronics. I think this a great service and a way for everyone to contribute the conservation of our environment.

For more information about this service, check out their website and when they will be at USP for their next pick up.
